Volunteering for Rafter M can mean many things depending on your interests and desires. The following are some of the things that volunteers do at Rafter M. You can do as much, or as little, as you want.

  • Give about an hour a week to help with riding lessons.

Depending on your own skills, volunteers lead horses or walk along beside riders. Some riders need three volunteers, others need fewer.

  • Help riders play games, learn things, do exercises and learn to ride the horse.

Some riders are learning letters, numbers, colors, shapes, following directions etc. You can even teach them how to ride if you don't know how to ride yourself!

  • Help in the office

Like most non-profit organizations, we need all the help we can get and we will take it where it's offered. We often need help answering the phone, stuffing envelopes...etc.

  • Help with the annual fundraiser

The annual fundraiser (trail ride) needs volunteers to help by selling raffle tickets, getting donations for the silent auction and of course working on the day of the fundraiser.

  • Help with the annual student horse show.
  • Help with the grooming and tacking of the animal volunteers (horses)
  • Help at the annual clean-up day.
  • Help with public relations, photography...etc.
  • Help with volunteer recruitment and management.
  • Help with future planning and new ideas.
